Abstract
Lack of sleep and its resulting distractions cause up to a quarter of motorcoach accidents, according to this article which looks at the causes and prevention of motorcoach driver fatigue. Industry mandated scheduling can force drivers to work when normally he or she would be sleeping. Also bad sleep, short sleep and heavy physical activity before driving acts like alcohol impairment on the road, lengthening reaction times and blurring judgment. Solutions range from education to supervision to better scheduling and driver responsibility. Also, an after word explains deep sleep habit formation.
