Abstract
Au cours du dernier siecle, l’evolution des antimicrobiens est passee d’une panacee contre les infections bacteriennes a un outil en voie de disparition en raison de la resistance croissante. Les bacteries resistantes chez les animaux representent une source de resistance aux antimicrobiens (RAM) pour les personnes et le lien privilegie qui existe entre les Canadiens et les animaux se trouve dans l’alimentation quotidienne. Le present rapport resume et evalue les connaissances scientifiques et pertinentes liees aux politiques nationales sur la RAM et sur l’utilisation des antimicrobiens (UAM) chez les porcs et les poulets.
