Abstract
This text provides information on safety in the welding industry. It identifies the hazards of all major welding processes, showing how they should be controlled to provide safe working conditions for welders and other engineering personnel. Moreover, it includes a comprehensive listing of safety regulations in the United States and Canada. This new edition describes the latest technology in the gas and arc welding processes, as well as more specialized welding processes, brazing soldering and thermal spraying. There is information on the welding and flame spraying of plastics, radiographic inspection, and the precautions needed when working on vessels contaminated by flammable materials. This edition also presents useful guidance on mechanical hazards, ventilation and fume protection, lighting, fire, first aid and personal protection equipment.
