Abstract
The City of Mississauga is continuing its transformation from a suburb of Toronto to a large urban centre. As part of this transformation, the City is working in partnership with Metrolinx to plan, build and operate bus rapid transit and light rapid transit (also in partnership with the City of Brampton). Mississauga is substantially developed and both rapid transit facilities will be retrofitted into or along the existing transportation network and development. This paper will give a high level overview of both projects and will focus on some of the major geometric challenges faced by designers.
