« [La poésie de Rita] est pleine de cette puissance féminine qui imprègne les peuples anciens, Haïdas du nord-ouest du Canada, ou Aïnous du nord du Japon – la voix des chamanes, la voix des conteuses. Quelque chose de calme et d´incorruptible qui s´ouvre sur l´avenir. C´est une parole qui ne revendique pas, qui n´exige pas. Grâce à cet amour et à ce partage, la poésie de Rita s´adresse à nous tous, où que nous soyons dans le monde, quelles que soient nos origines et notre histoire » (préface de Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio)[1]. Il s´agit de montrer ici comment cet hommage de J.M.G Le Clézio, lors de son discours de réception du prix Nobel de littérature en 2008, donne l´occasion à cette voix minoritaire de résonner et d´être traduite dans plusieurs langues. La langue est ce qui crée un espace commun, ce qui fait lien : la langue maternelle, celle de la terre, est l´innu tandis que le français est la langue commune à un public plus large.
