Cette reproduction commente des 176 miniatures illustrant la clbre Chronique des vques de Wurtzbourg constitue en fait le sixime tome d'une dition complte de ce texte rdig par le secrtaire et bibliothcaire du Conseil de Wurtzbourg Lorenz Fries (1489-1550) charg de mettre en forme l'histoire de l'vch et de la ville depuis la christianisation de la Franconie jusqu' la mort de l'vque Rudolf von Scherenberg en 1495. Les cinq premiers volumes (dont deux parus ce jour) regroupent quant eux le texte mme de la chronique.
