Abstract
II ne semble ni possible ni souhaitable de cacher la mort à l'enfant. Cette réalité fait partie de la vie et tôt ou tard l'enfant aura à y faire face. Une attitude naturelle peut aider l'enfant à connaître la mort graduellement et sans trop d'angoisse. Pour être capable d'écouter l'enfant et de répondre à ses questions, l'adulte doit apprendre à reconnaître sa propre angoisse face à la mort et il doit pouvoir en parler librement. Cette attitude franche et ouverte facilite grandement le dialogue avec l'enfant lorsqu'il devient malade ou lorsqu'il perd un être aimé.
