Abstract
Class I railroads are re-configuring their e-business strategies after failing to match then to customers' needs and expectations. The article gives some examples, such as Canadian National Railway Co., which has online, real-time sales information, and Norfolk Southern, which has an Internet Bill of Lading. Online rate calculators are another feature, as are interactive pricing and scheduling tools.
