Abstract
Colletotrichum gloeosporioides f.sp. malvae was discovered by fortuitous observation as blight on seedlings of round-leaved mallow (Malva pusilla), a serious weed pest in prairie agriculture. This chapter describes the history of bringing this fungus to market as a post-emergent bioherbicide, trade named BioMal®.
