Abstract
Describes BP Amoco's formulation of low fuming asphalt for PG grades 58-28, 58-22 and 64-22. Describes the Canadian specifications that led to its creation, which included meeting requirements for an initial boiling point as measured by gas chromatography, the Pensky-Martens Closed Cup flash point and a new mass loss test. Gives details on new tests still in development to measure different characteristics of low-fume asphalt.
