Le cheminement du Quebec en matiere de developpement des transports actifs a ete particulier puisqu’il s’est d’abord exprime par le developpement d’un produit cyclotouristique, avec la mise en place de la Route verte et l’adoption d’une Politique sur le velo des 1995, mais s’est finalement affirme par l’elaboration de politiques et de programmes de plus en plus tournes vers les deplacements utilitaires a velo et a pied. En octobre 2013, le ministere des Transports (MTQ) a annonce la mise sur pied de son tout nouveau programme Veloce II qui a consolide l’approche du Ministere en transport actif en dotant le Quebec d’un programme integre remplacant l’ensemble des programmes qui avaient ete administres jusque la en matiere de developpement des voies cyclables et pietonnes.
