Abstract
Le bleuet du Lac Saint-Jean, une myrtille sauvage, pourrait obtenir une appellation d'origine controlee (AOC) au Quebec, grâce a sa reputation etendue et a son ancrage dans le terroir. Aujourd'hui, 95% de la production de ce bleuet sauvage est congelee par deux entreprises locales. Celles-ci assurent egalement avec succes sa commercialisation en gros au niveau international, sous le nom de bleuet sauvage ou de bleuet boreal. Les acteurs de la filiere ont des avis divergents quant a l'enregistrement en AOC du bleuet du Lac Saint-Jean. Neanmoins, la creation d'une filiere alternative qui commercialiserait du bleuet du Lac Saint-Jean AOC sur un marche de niche, parallelement a la commercialisation en gros, pourrait avoir des impacts positifs pour la region en termes economiques, sociaux et environnementaux.
