Abstract
Neste artigo a autora analisa a invisibilidade da raca e da experiencia das mulheres negras no campo dos estudos da mulher brasileiros. A partir de um olhar comparativo sobre estudos da mulher no Inglaterra, nos Estados Unidos e no Canada a autora explora como questoes sobre diferenca racial entre as mulheres nao foram tratadas nos diferentes contextos nacionais. A analise enfatiza a ausencia da raca na maior parte dos estudos da mulher no Brasil e sugere que, para um melhor entendimento da diversidade das experiencias das mulheres brasileiras, e preciso dar um maior enfoque para “diferenca” racial e para a relacao entre raca e genero.
