Le portrait tracé dans ce chapitre est celui du territoire Ville-Émard, qui correspond à la partie ouest du territoire de l’arrondissement Le Sud-Ouest de la ville de Montréal. Avec 45 218 personnes (données intégrales, voir la note ci-dessus) en 2006, soit 2,4% de la population de l’île de Montréal, le territoire Ville-Émard a vu sa population \naugmenter de 3,2% depuis 2001 (43 805), soit plus que sur l’ensemble de l’île (2,2%).
