Abstract
Les établissements qui offriront des services de bibliothèque et d’études aux Assemblées législatives du XXIe siècle devront être beaucoup plus en prise sur le milieu que par le passé et devront pouvoir s’adapter rapidement. Les changements sont actuellement des plus rapides et des plus profonds. Ils affectent et façonnent les compétences législatives comme le fonctionnement interne des Assemblées et, simultanément, les sociétés dont elles sont un élément essentiel. Le raisonnement est le suivant : la connaissance et l’information constituent un facteur clé de la puissance des Assemblées et elles le seront encore plus à l’avenir; des courants de base qui influencent le monde contemporain modifieront leur fonctionnement et leurs systèmes d’information. Ainsi, grâce aux courants en présence, on peut identifier les nouvelles voies qu’emprunteront les services parlementaires d’information au cours du XXIe siècle.
