Abstract
The following works were written during the course of completing my Master of Music (Composition) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B C. My composition professors during this degree were Dr. Stephen Chatman, Dr. Nikolai Korndorf and Dr. Keith Hamel. A list of performances and/or readings of these works is included at the end of this thesis.
