Abstract
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) predispose a woman to maternity-related cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Several factors intersect to place women at risk of HDP. Women of African descent are at a higher risk of HDP due to intersecting factors. However, there is limited literature on HDP among women of African descent in Canada.
