[In Austrian German] Warum sind "heuer", "eh" und "Jänner" in Österreich Hochsprache, aber in Deutschland nicht? Und warum wissen das viele, besonders viele Deutsche, nicht? Fragen wie diese erörtert Professor Dollinger auf erfrischende Art in einem Buch, das als Emanzipationsschrift zum österreichischen Standarddeutsch gelesen werden sollte. Im Stil einer unterhaltsamen Vorlesung angelehnt, erörtert der Autor für ein breites Publikum das Problem der akademischen Germanistik mit einem Deutsch, das den alten norddeutschen Einheitsstandard längst hinter sich gelassen hat. Lesende werden auf amüsante Art über Wege und Irrwege aufgeklärt, wobei die theoretischen Grundlagen als besonders leicht verdauliche Beilage serviert werden. Darf man noch der Virus sagen, oder muss man auf das Virus umstellen? Dollinger liefert Antworten und befindet, dass Artikel der eine durchaus österreichische Komponente hat. Es besteht kein Zweifel, dass österreichische Dialekte eine österreichische Identität signalisieren, doch, was weit weniger bekannt ist, das tut das österreichische Standarddeutsch ebenso. Es ist maßgeschneidert für Österreich. Frei von jeglichen sprachimperialistischen Anflügen zeigt dieses Buch, dass österreichisches Standarddeutsch der wirklich passende Standard des Deutschen für Österreich ist. Der Oberösterreicher ist Absolvent der Wiener Anglistik und Germanistik, Autor von fünf Monographien, Mitherausgeber vierer Werke (darunter zweier historischer Wörterbücher, www.dchp.ca/dchp2) und Verfasser von mehr als 70 Fachartikeln zu Themenbereichen, die für dieses Buch unmittelbar relevant sind: gibt es "österreichisches Standarddeutsch" oder ist es nur "Deutsch in Österreich"?
