En choisissant de faire sa révolution gastronomique et de réconcilier agri et culture, le pays gagnerait sur tous les plans : économique, social, culturel et politique. Mais surtout, le Cameroun serait un modèle pour les autres pays tropicaux, le symbole d’un dynamisme et d’un espoir que le développement n’a pas à être si laborieux. La cuisine camerounaise est une invitation aux tropiques, à la découverte du bon goût de la biodiversité et de l’abondance. Elle est une invitation à attirer l’attention du monde sur la gastronomie tropicale plus importante que jamais lorsque l’on sait que 3,3 milliards de personnes vivent dans les tropiques, que 85% des plus pauvres vivent dans les tropiques, que 2 sur 3 enfants âgés de moins de 15 ans dans le monde vivront dans les tropiques d’ici 2050. La gastrodiplomatie camerounaise aurait alors une belle carte à jouer pour soutenir de nombreux pays européens, les États-Unis, le Canada mais aussi les autres pays tropicaux, par exemple l’Indonésie dans leurs efforts visant à augmenter le niveau d’acceptation par les consommateurs occidentaux des aliments non conventionnels et de donner envie au monde entier de s’approvisionner au Cameroun afin de découvrir et goûter une nouvelle expérience sur place. Car c’est cela le voyage !
