Abstract
The dynamic present stimulates the comprehensive study of contemporary art. To get a comprehensive reflection of events, the reader turns to artistic magazines. The emergence of new editions in modern realities is an important phenomenon in the national cultural and artistic space. The magazine "7UA" is analyzed in the Western scientific and art center of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, which presents its view on art and presents the latest artistic processes through the prism of the works of well-known artists in Ukraine and other countries. The topic of contemporary Ukrainian magazines about art was not the subject of research of domestic scholars such as Mazur Yu.V. and Rozhilo MA [2], VV Ragozina [6], and Fyilka SB [9]. Researchers, to a greater extent, see artistic journals that have fallen into the thematic category of "cultural artistic" or "artistic" in the last decade. The magazine "7UA" (Seven Ukrainian Artists), that was established in 2016 (in the city of) Lviv, has not received appreciation in the cultural discourse, so we see it relevant to analyze the peculiarities of its creation and functioning in modern realities yet.The purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of the phenomenon of the art magazine "7UA" in the contemporary socio-cultural space of Ukraine. The research material provides a brief overview of the formation of the magazine and analyzes the peculiarities of functioning. Attention is focused on the holistic analysis of content by reviewing the main sections of the magazine. The visual component, which defines its uniqueness, style features and place in the socio-cultural space of Ukraine is noted. Having analyzed the features of the creation and functioning of the magazine "7UA", it’s main sections, we can draw the following conclusions and outline the main advantages among other Ukrainian artistic editions:- the content is presented at a high popular scientific level, since the authors of the articles are experienced domestic scientists - academics, PhD’s, art critics and art workers, including Galina Stelmashchuk, Roman Yatsiv, Zoya Chegusova, Roksolana Shafran, as well as young art historians from Ukraine and China. .- a statement of information logical, clearly structured according to the relevant headings: PERSONALITIES, SCIENTIFIC JOURNALISM, EVENTS. ANNOUNCEMENTS (in the second and third issue of EVENTS);- is not overloaded with a text array, it focuses on the visual components, which is important for the modern reader, since by publishing the results of creative searches of Ukrainian artists, text material is supplemented with high-quality color and black-and-white illustrated material (photographs of artists and their works, photos of exhibitions, symposiums etc);- unique design and excellent quality of printing, because both the content and the external design of the magazine "7UA" is characterized by high aesthetics of the design solution. The original visual style is characterized by the difference of the object from other editions with the help of special graphic characteristics, that becomes a benchmark for reader - Popularization of "young", not so well-known artists;- The decisive advantage from other Ukrainian editions on art is that the magazine is bilingual: all publications are well-translated into English;- Distribution on a royalty-free basis both in Ukraine and abroad (China, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Poland, Germany Belgium, etc.).The article outlines the prospects for the development of the artistic publication in the socio-cultural space of Ukraine, proposes ways to optimize it and makes recommendations for further activities. Regarding the recommendations that can be used in the process of work, the following should be included here: the publication, without a doubt, requires the availability of high-quality on-line versions on the network. In the modern information space the reader seeks to receive information promptly, and the availability of a printed format restricts its functioning. Obviously, the lack of access to the journal on the Internet has caused the change in the title of the heading "Events. Announcements. ", which existed only in the first issue of the magazine, and highlighted the announcements of the events to be held on the "Events "(in the next two issues), which provides only information on the most significant events that have already taken place. Editors should consider creating their own website where the reader will have access to the digital version. It is also worth paying attention to a critical evaluation of the creativity of artists. During the study of content, no publications in which attention is focused on negative trends of art were published, attention is not focused on the deep disclosure of those phenomenon that impede the further development of the artistic process. Despite the criticisms made, the magazine has significant developments and achievements. Magazine 7UA is one of the few magazines in Ukraine that clearly reveals the phenomenon in the creative process, which demonstrates the active position of artists and their vision in the context of the development of Ukrainian art, popularizes it’s best achievements at the international level, demonstrates a high aesthetic culture and informs the reader about important aspects of modern artistic life.
