Abstract: In recent years, the field of catalysis has undergone an explosive growth. The aim of this is to provide an introduction to catalysis, its basic concepts, and its benefits for different branches of science and technology. Recent advances in preparing, designing, and characterizing new catalysts are also highlighted. Catalyst has play important role in the chemical industry from its beginning in the late eighteenth century. Today, catalytic Processes are used to make gasoline, to synthesize most pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and polymer & reduce pollution from cars and power plants Catalyst participate in a chemical reaction & increase its rate. They do not appear in the reaction's net equation & are not consumed during the reaction its enhanced rate the rate of chemical reaction. It's also used in everyday items like catalytic converters in cars & in the cleaning of contact lenses. Intermediate complex theory of catalysis deals with mechanism of homogeneous catalysis. The catalyst that converts milk into curd is the bacteria Lactobacillus
