Abstract
The article discusses "gifts, food, and clothing" as essential elements in building social relationships in the city of Tènés. Gifts signify respect and appreciation, contributing to the strengthening of social ties and the building of trust. They are used for indirect communication in sensitive matters and are an important part of special occasions. The study focuses on analyzing gift documents from wedding ceremonies to understand social relationships in the Maamriya community. It aims to analyze the impact of gift exchange on social relationships, understand the cultural changes' impact on society, and analyze the social patterns that govern interactions among individuals. The study relies on an ethnographic approach using observation, interviews, and document analysis. The Maamriya community is a tribe with a shared culture that follows the marriage traditions of "Sidi Màamr Abu Al-Aliya," who set the dowry at a quarter gold dinar to facilitate marriage due to poverty. The study highlights the importance of gifts in enhancing social bonds and cultural belonging.
