Distribution: Europe, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Algeria, Tunisia, Japan = elegans (Heer, 1839: 350) (Bolitochara) = nigricollis Motschulsky, 1845: 41 8. maculipennis Gridelli, 1921: 87 (Zyras fulgidus var. maculipennis). Distribution: Caucasus, Kazachstan, Uzbekistan East Palaearctic region: This area includes Siberia east from Lake Baikal, Nepal, northern India, China, Taiwan, Koreas, Japan and Russia Far East. Currently there are 36 species described from this region and one nomen nudum.
