<strong>Résumé</strong><br> La présente étude a été réalisée dans la réserve forestière de Baleng et ses environs dans la Région de l'Ouest-Cameroun. L’objectif est de contribuer à l’étude de la dynamique des systèmes agroforestiers dans la réserve et les agrosystèmes l’environnant au fil du temps. Les données d’enquêtes de terrain couplées aux données de télédétection de haute à très haute résolution spatiale de Landsat (1980, 2003, 2016), SPOT 6 (2014) et les photographies aériennes (1983) ont permis de cartographier et caractériser les systèmes agroforestiers dans les environs de la réserve entre 1983 et 2016. L’exploitation d’images Landsat et SPOT 6 fusionnée au Modèle Numérique de Terrain (MNT), dans les Systèmes d'Information Géographique ont permis l’identification des zones favorables pour le développement de l'agroforesterie. Les résultats de l’occupation du sol montrent, entre 1980 et 2016, une évolution continue des surfaces cultivées (de 35,4 à 52,1%) et des habitations au détriment des surfaces forestières (qui sont passées de 52,1% à 21,5%). L’analyse montre que les systèmes agroforestiers se sont diversifiés avec le temps. Il est relevé une utilisation du sol dominée dans les années 1980 par les jardins de case, le bocage et les reliques de forêts/savanes naturelles. Cette diversité paysagère se caractérise en 2016 par des cultures sous couverts arborées et des champs complantés d’arbres. La présence de la réserve influence la composition des agrosystèmes environnants; bien que les systèmes agroforestiers soient hétérogènes dans l’espace, on note tout de même une abondance relative d’espèces ligneuses inférieure dans la zone sous influence de la réserve située dans une zone tampon de 1 000 m par rapport à la zone sans influence située à 1500 m. Au-delà de servir de base d’informations utiles aux gestionnaires pour les interventions, cette étude met en exergue le caractère particulier de la gestion participative de la réserve, susceptible d’être promue comme une stratégie de création des futures réserves forestières. <strong>Abstract</strong><br> The present study was carried out in the Baleng Forest Reserve and its surroundings in the West Region of Cameroon. The objective is to contribute to the study of the dynamics of agroforestry systems in the reserve and its surrounding agrosystems over time. Field survey data coupled with high to very high spatial resolution remote sensing data from Landsat (1980, 2003, 2016), SPOT 6 (2014) and aerial photographs (1983) were used to map and characterise agroforestry systems in the vicinity of the reserve between 1983 and 2016. The exploitation of Landsat and SPOT 6 images merged with the Digital Terrain Model (DTM), in Geographic Information Systems allowed the identification of favourable areas for agroforestry development. The results of the land use show, between 1980 and 2016, a continuous evolution of cultivated areas (35.4% to 52.1%) and housing at the expense of forest areas (which have decreased from 52.1% to 21.5%). The analysis shows that agroforestry systems have diversified over time. It is noted that agroforestry land use was dominated in the 1980s by hut gardens, hedgerows and relics of natural forests/savannas. This landscape diversity is characterised in 2016 by undergrowth of trees and fields planted with trees. The presence of the reserve influences the composition of the surrounding agrosystems; although the agroforestry systems are spatially heterogeneous, the relative abundance of woody species is lower in the area under the influence of the reserve located in a buffer zone of 1000 m than in the non-influenced area located at 1500 m. In addition to serving as a basis of useful information for managers for interventions, this study highlights the particular character of the participatory management of the reserve, which could be promoted as a strategy for the creation of future forest reserves.
