Abstract
Trouessartia ripariae Mironov, 1983 (Figs. 19 D–F, 21E–G) Trouessartia ripariae Mironov, 1983: 366, figs. 2c, 4; Gaud & Atyeo 1987: 378, figs. 1h, 2h, 4h, 5h. Material examined. 8 males, 8 females (ZISP 7500–7515) from Riparia riparia (Linnaeus, 1758) (Passeriformes: Hirundinidae), CANADA, Manitoba, Oak Hammock Marsh, 2008, coll. T.D. Galloway and S.R. Repa. Trouessartia ripariae is known exclusively from the sand martin, Riaparia riparia, throughout most of its range in both hemispheres. Originally this mite species was described from the European part of Russia (Mironov 1983); further, it was recorded on this host in northern Africa (Morocco, Ethiopia), eastern and South East Asia (Japan, Malesia, Thailand) and in North America (USA, Canada) (Gaud & Atyeo 1987; Galloway et al. 2014).
