Le 150e anniversaire de la Confédération constitue un moment opportun de réfléchir à la portée, au sens, aux succès et aux problèmes de notre régime politique. Certains en feront l’éloge, d’autres, le procès ; quoiqu’on en dise, le rapport du Canada à la dualité nationale, une philosophie développée surtout par des penseurs canadiens-français pour dépeindre le Canada comme un « pacte entre deux peuples fondateurs », mérite une réflexion sérieuse. Ce colloque vise à faire le point sur l’idée de dualité autant dans les débats intellectuels que dans ses représentations institutionnelles. Il s’adresse aux historiens, aux politologues, aux sociologues, aux juristes et à tous ceux et celles qui étudient le Canada dans son rapport à la dualité.
