Cet article se penche sur l’inclusion des enfants touchés par la trisomie 21 (T21) et sur les perceptions et les représentations des professionnels, dans le contexte de la transition entre les milieux préscolaire et scolaire. Les résultats sont tirés de deux études de cas. L’analyse qualitative des entretiens menés avec les éducateurs en milieu de garde et les enseignants de maternelle montre que l’inclusion entamée dans le milieu de garde semble difficile à assurer et à poursuivre lors de l’entrée à l’école. Des discontinuités existent entre les ressources et les moyens disponibles dans les deux milieux. L’inclusion est influencée par les croyances, les attitudes vis-à-vis de l’enfant ayant une T21, ainsi que par l’expérience des éducateurs du milieu de garde et celles des enseignants de maternelle. Enfin, un sentiment d’efficacité diminué chez le professionnel peut poser un défi, malgré les croyances positives à l’égard de l’inclusion.
