RESUMO: Tendo como referenciais teóricos autores como Antonio Candido, Eclea Bosi, Primo Levi, Gilka Girardello e Alberto Manguel, busca-se compreender como literatura, memória e imaginação operam no romance A Bibliotecária de Auschwitz, de Antonio Iturbe, de modo a potencializar as potencialidades da leitura como experiência humana. Com base no testemunho de Dita Kraus, adolescente que sobreviveu ao campo de Auschwitz, onde trabalhou como bibliotecária no Bloco 31, o bloco infantil, a narrativa ficcional de Antonio Iturbe mostra como a memória e a imaginação se entrelaçam como exercício de resistência diante do processo de desumanização em Auschwitz.
