Abstract
Scatopsciara (Scatopsciara) awinitae sp. n. * (Figs. 1 A–C) Locus typicus: USA, California, Los Angeles County, San Gabriel Mountains, San Gabriel Canyon, 800 m, maple mixed forest. Holotype: Male, 13.–19.iv.1996, leg. W. Mohrig, yellow trap (PWMP). Paratypes: 4 males, same data; 7 males, 4.–9.iii.1996, same location; 1 male, 7.–13.iv.1996, same location; 4 males, 2.–16.iii.1997, leg. W. Mohrig, California, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino National Park, Silverwood Lake, mixed forest, 1200 m, Malaise trap; 1 male, 11.vi.–23.vii.1994, leg. E. Fuller, Canada, Alberta, Berland River at Hwy 40, 53.42°N, 118.20°W, pine forest, Malaise trap (PWMP, 1 male in PKHH, 1 male in MZH). Description. Male. Head. Dark brown. Eye bridge 4 facets wide. 4th flagellomere with l/w-index 3.0, haired pale and longer than wide. Necks rather long. Palpus 3-segmented, short; basal segment with a slightly deepened sensory area and 2–3 bristles. Thorax. Brown. Scutum haired short and pale. Wings pale; R1= 2/3 R; c longer ½ w; y = x, bare; posterior veins bare. Haltere short, brownish. Legs brownish; tibial organ comb-like; middle and hind tibiae with one long spur, second spur reduced or absent; claws toothless. Abdomen. Brown, haired brownish. Hypopygium brown, ventral base closed, haired rather long but sparsely; gonocoxites strong, somewhat longer than gonostylus, haired sparsely at the inner ventral margin. Gonostylus flattened on inner side, with a minute apical tooth and 6–7 longer spines, located in the apical half of the inner side. Tegmen wide, apically with fine teeth. Body size: 2.5 mm. Comments. The species is characterized by a very short apical tooth on the gonostylus and the subapical spines are much longer, 4–5 spines are located more in the middle of inner side, two at the level of apical tooth (or somewhat above). The flagellomeres are remarkably long. The species differs from Sc. subciliata Tuomikoski by less numerous but longer subapical spines whereas the apical tooth is short as well. The species belongs to the Sc. atomaria group. Distribution. USA (California), Canada (Alberta). * Awinita = fawn, Cherokee.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
