Vermont, Lamoille Co., West Branch Little River, Hwy 108, near Stowe Ski Area, 6 May 1984, G.R. Fiala, 2 males (BYU). Remarks. Adults were described in Claassen (1923) and subsequently in Needham & Claassen (1925, with same image of the male in lateral view; their plate 38, fig. 14). The male paraproct was also illustrated in Hitchcock (1974, his fig. 143). The holotype male and allotype female (Glen House, NH—also in Coös Co.) were collected from different localities. The only other Soyedina species distributed that far northward is S. vallicularia. The combination of the asymmetric dorsal (Figs. 43–45, 48) and ventral sclerites (Figs. 43–44), plus the inner epiproct member that is flanged and directed laterally with the flange lip approximately same width apically (Figs. 44–46), aligns this species closely with S. carolinensis and S. merritti. Soyedina washingtoni is known from the northern Appalachian Mountain region south to West Virginia and westward across Pennsylvania to streams draining into Lake Erie (Fig. 80).

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
