Roederiodes lawrencei sp. nov. (Figs 13, 22, 35) urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: D962A665-5FC2-453B-8BD4-595DAE514EF0 Type material. HOLOTYPE ♁ (Fig. 13), labelled: “USA:AZ: Cochise Co. / Coronado Nat. For./ Huachuca Mtns./ Miller Canyon [31°24′N 110°16′W]/ B.J. Sinclair ”; “ 3.vi.1991 / Miller Creek ”; “ CNC DIPTERA / # 103478”; “ Barcode of Life / DNA voucher specimen/ Sample CNC DIPTERA 103478 / BOLD Proc. ID: CNCDD179–11 [green label]”; “HOLOTYPE/ Roederiodes / lawrencei Sinclair [red label]” (CNC). PARATYPES: USA. Arizona: same data as holotype, except CNC103479, CNC103480 (2 ♀, barcoded, CNC); Cochise Co., Coronado Nat. For., Pinery Canyon Cpgd [31°55′N 109°16′W], 2.vi.1991, BJS, CNC103481 (1 ♀, barcoded, CNC); Chiricahua Mtns., Cave Creek Dan nr. Herb Martyr Cpgd, 31°52.3′N 109°14.1′W, 5900 ft, 18.viii.2007, JMC (1 ♁, CNC); Southwest Research Station [31.884°N 109.205°W], 5–9.vi.1972, MT, W.W. Wirth (1 ♀, USNM). Recognition. This species is similar in colour to R. notialis, distinguished by base of M 1 and M 2 ranging from short crossvein to long coalescence, five slender dorsocentral setae, prescutellar depression without pruinescence and clasping cercus arched and hook-shaped. Description. Wing length 2.7–3.1 mm. Male. Face and gena brown with faint pubescence. Ocellar setae divergent, subequal to pprn; vertical seta as long as ocellar seta. Antenna with short stylus, longer than length of postpedicel; postpedicel ovate, shortly prolonged apically. Length of proboscis two-thirds head height. Pleura pale brown with faint pruinescence on anepisternum (Fig. 13); prescutellar depression without pruinescence; several acr, very short, confined anterior to first pair of dc; 5 dc, slender, with prescutellar seta stronger and longest; 1 pprn; 1 presut spal with several setulae; 2 npl; 0 psut spal; 1 pal; 2 sctl and numerous short to long setulae on disc and margin, outer and inner marginal setulae nearly half length of apical seta; laterotergite with patch of setae; antepronotum with several setulae; lower proepisternum with pale setae. Wing infuscate; cell dm pointed apically, with base of M 1 and M 2 separated forming very short crossvein or coalesced basally for short to long distance, subequal in length to crossvein dm-m. Legs coxae and femora pale to yellowish brown; coxae without bluish pruinescence. Hind tibia with distinct ventral setae, longer than half width of tibia. Abdominal tergites pale brown, without bluish pruinescence; bearing short black setae. Terminalia (Fig. 22): Hypandrium slightly shorter than epandrium, apex rounded; without setae. Phallus slightly curved; membranous distiphallus without lateral extensions. Cercal plate with pair of long setae; clasping cercus arched, hooked and Lshaped, apex rounded, apical portion slender, with apex slightly expanded; stout, thickened setae along inner dorsal margin and longer, finer setae on inner basoapical face. Female. Similar to male. Etymology. This species is named in honour of the memory of my brother, Robert Lawrence (Lawry) Sinclair (1958–2009). Distribution. This species is known only from southeastern Arizona (Fig. 35).

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
