Radioactive isotope 14C is widely used as indicator in the study of carbon turnover. In this presentation we show part of the results which were received while working on the <strong>CRDF</strong> project - “Distribution of Carbon Isotopes in Forest Ecosystems within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone”. The base regional scale of radiocarbon content in tree rings of 1981-2004 years was created for “clean” pine forest zone. For 50- years old pins from “Clean” Zone and from Chernobyl Exclusion Zone were determined the radiocarbon content in tree rings (1981-2004), in pines, and in roots. 14C content in carbon of various elements of the subsystem: atmosphere-grass-liter –soil, determined for both research sites on the base vacuum thermo-destruction technology has shown noticeable presents of the graphite component of the accidental release.
