Abstract
Cette enquête a été révisée de l'Enquête sur l'importance de la faune aux yeux des Canadiens en 1981 à l'Enquête sur l'importance de la faune pour les Canadiens en 1987 et 1991, à l'Enquête sur l'importance de la nature pour les Canadiens en 1996. L'enquête a été discontinuée en 1997. Elle a été réalisée par le Groupe des enquêtes spéciales pour le compte du Service canadien de la faune d'Environnement Canada, des organismes provinciaux de la faune et des organisations non-gouvernementales. L'objectif principal de cette enquête était de recueillir de l'information sur les activités reliées à la nature, comme l'observation, l'étude et la photographie de la nature; le camping; la randonnée pédestre; le ski; la navigation de plaisance; la chasse et la pêche, ainsi que sur la contribution de ces activités à l'économie canadienne.
