Abstract
The article reveals the history of the formation and the main stages of the experimental field of the Gorygorki Agricultural Institute, describes its influence on the expansion of scientific research in the field of agriculture and crop production. The crucial contribution of professors and lecturers of the institute to the creation of a well-operating mechanism for the functioning of the experimental field is reflected. The priority of the institute is especially emphasized in creating the first experimental field in the world practice, which became the first experimental institution in history, organized in a higher agricultural educational institution and continuously operating for a quarter of a century.
