Abstract
HTRA1 is a serine protease of the trypsin family, as discussed below. The scientific data suggests that HTRA1 localizes to plaques, increases expression in tandem with AD pathology, and cleaves APP, Tau, and APOE, supporting its potential involvement in either promoting or resisting AD-linked disease process (see below of citations). This TEP project intends to provide the scientific community with high quality resources that may help identify the role of HTRA1 in AD-linked biology. This TEP includes bioinformatic analysis, protein structural information and purified protein, and antibodies validation testing for HTRA1 specificity. We hope these resources help promote future HTRA1 investigations.
