Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In order to clarify the risk posed to potential archaeological remains by a proposal to install underfloor heating in the nave, aisles and west lobby of St Mary's Church, Watford, the Heritage Network was commissioned by the Parochial Church Council to carry out a programme of non-intrusive archaeological investigation using ground-probing radar. This focused on approximately half of the study area, the rest being occupied by wooden plinths carrying pews. A total of 13 features of possible archaeological interest were identified, including three linear features which may represent drainage pipes, ducting or cabling; two areas of undefined disturbance which may represent structural remains or debris; two possible vaults which may contain burials; and six possible burials or groups of burials. The top level of all these features is likely to be impacted by the proposed works.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
