Le colloque international « regards catholiques sur les capitales, XIXe et XXe siècles : Bruxelles, Paris, Québec, Rome » entend reprendre la question complexe du rapport des catholiques à la ville par le bout des capitales nationales. Comment se fait-il que, même dans des pays profondément catholiques et influencés par un clergé puissant, les capitales nationales aient été perçues par certaines élites comme des havres du libéralisme et des lieux privilégiés de tolérance religieuse tandis que pour d’autres elles symbolisaient toutes les subversions ? Il s’agit d’objectiver cette tension à partir de l’étude de différents contextes historiques régionaux en Belgique, en France, au Québec et en Italie. Le colloque se tiendra à l’Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), le 23 mars 2012. Les propositions de communication devront être envoyées avant le 15 novembre 2011 à : cecile.vanderpelen@ulb.ac.be.
