La journée d'études « Histoire et quantification de l'éducation et de la formation », coorganisée par la revue Histoire & Mesure, le Centre de recherches historiques (UMR 8558 CNRS-EHESS) et l'université Paris 13, vise à dresser un bilan des nouvelles directions de la recherche et du renouvellement des méthodes employées en histoire de l'éducation et de la formation. La journée d'études permettra de mettre en lumière la diversité des approches proposées par l'histoire des politiques éducatives, l’histoire des disciplines ou par l’étude des profils d’étudiants ou d’enseignants, dans une perspective internationale portant sur l'Europe (France, Belgique, Luxembourg, Pays-Bas, Roumanie, Hongrie, Grande-Bretagne) et l’Amérique du Nord (États-Unis et Québec).
