Ce texte invite à une réflexion sur le fait que les enjeux et les controverses qui animent la langue sont actuellement exclus des écoles du Québec. Nous avons adopté la démarche méthodologique interdisciplinaire consistant en la construction d’un ilot interdisciplinaire de rationalité pour poser les jalons d’une conception de l’enseignement de l’écrit qui s’inspire de l’approche des « Éducations à... ». Nous proposons de revoir les finalités éducatives afin qu’elles visent le développement d’une pensée critique et d’un pouvoir d’agir avec et sur la langue qui permettront à l’élève de contribuer à l’évolution de la culture écrite de la société. Par ailleurs, nous proposons d’adopter des démarches pédagogiques interdisciplinaires et nous proposons à la personne enseignante d’adopter un rôle de médiateur culturel.
