Abstract
Il teatro di Wajdi Mouawad, drammaturgo, attore, regista e direttore artistico del Théâtre de la Colline di Parigi dal 2016, può essere considerato nella sua interezza una riflessione sulla condizione storica e simbolica dell’esule, dal punto visto identitario come da quello linguistico. Nato in Libano, emigrato in Francia all’età di 10 anni, nel 1978, in seguito alla guerra civile, di nuovo esule in Canada, Mouawad nutre la sua scrittura e il suo teatro della sua storia individuale, una storia di erranza. È un teatro, il suo, metà autobiografico, metà documentario, che si definisce “au croisement des cultures” e che tematizza, nell’intenzione di proporre una moderna epopea dell’esilio, l’incontro tra lingue, culture e miti, attraverso l’elaborazione delle esperienze “traumatiche” legate al senso di déracinement, al sentimento di perdita, di lacerazione identitaria, sempre orientate ad una prospettiva storica collettiva. L’intenzione di questo articolo è di ragionare sul teatro di Wajdi Mouawad (in particolare, a partire dalla tetralogia, Le Sang des promesses, composta da Littoral, Incendies, Forêts e Ciels) in quanto teatro del “decentramento” sia dal punto di vista della scrittura drammatica, che mette in scena l’“alterità” come fonte primaria del riconoscimento identitario, attraverso un mescolarsi di geografie, di lingue e di spazi complessi, sia dal punto di vista della pratica artistica – e politica, in un certo senso – che si manifesta nel progetto di fare del Théâtre de la Colline, uno dei cinque teatri nazionali francesi, un vero e proprio théâtre-monde, un lieu des diasporas che accoglie, da anni, “des spectacles présentés en langue étrangère surtitrés […] dans un projet qui prône l’hospitalité, ouvert aux diversité è la jeunesse”.
