\nAvec une production d’environ 20 millions de tonnes, les États-Unis sont le premier producteur mondial de volailles et le deuxième exportateur juste derrière le Brésil.\nSi la production étatsunienne de volailles est bien supérieure à celle de l’Union européenne (12 millions de tonnes pour l’UE), elle n’est pas destinée aux mêmes marchés.\nEn effet, le Mexique, le Canada et la Russie (avant l’embargo) sont les principales destinations des exportations étatsuniennes, qui atteignent près de 4 millions de tonnes soit 20 p. cent de la production nationale (10 p. cent de la production européenne de volailles est exportée vers les pays tiers).\nLes États-Unis produisent de la viande de volaille principalement pour leur marché intérieur, l’export n’est en fait qu’une voie de dégagement pour les produits non valorisés sur le territoire national.\n\n\n\nTandis que les négociations sur l'accord de libre-échange transatlantique se poursuivent, les craintes d'une menace pour les filières avicoles françaises se cristallisent. La compétitivité des États-Unis sur le secteur avicole risque en effet de bouleverser le marché intra-communautaire par des importations de filets à bas prix.\n\n\t\t\t
