Abstract
Muchas metodologías han sido reportadas para la extracción de aceites de microalgas, ya sea con fines alimentarios, medicinales y recientemente como materia prima para producir biocombustibles. Para la producción de biocombustibles como biodiesel generalmente se usan semillas oleaginosas las cuales han mostrado tener muchas limitaciones debido a la disponibilidad de terrenos y agua para su cultivo, bajos rendimientos de cosechas y más aún que se usan semillas cuyo destino es la alimentación. Por tal motivo en los últimos años se han ido estudiando la factibilidad del uso de microalgas para la producción de biodiesel las cuales pueden superar las limitaciones antes mencionadas. Diversos autores han mostrado metodologías para la extracción de aceite de diferentes microalgas cuyos rangos de extracción están en el orden de 11.2 % a 22.9 %.En el presente trabajo se muestra un método modificado (mejorado) para la extracción de aceite de la microalga Nannocloropsis oculata previamente liofilizada tratado conultrasonido y mezclas de solventes orgánicos tales como ciclohexanoisopropanol y cloroformo-metanol. El mayor rendimiento fue alcanzado al usar la mezcla cloroformo-metanol (35.55%±2.05), pero se considera que tiene un efecto negativo en el medio ambiente y a la salud, por ello la mezcla ciclohexano-isopropanol mostró un rendimiento aceptable (31.49%±0.11) siendo menos contaminante para el ambiente. Cuando se trabaja con la mezcla ciclohexano-isopropanol se mostró que no hubo cambios significativos en el tiempo de sonicación resultando ser 10 minutos el adecuado y la temperatura ideal 56°C. La mezcla cloroformo-metanol mostró una ligera variación resultando ser también el tiempo adecuado 10 minutos y temperatura 48°C.
