Afin de limiter la production d’électricité requise pour satisfaire la demande en périodes de pointe et de préserver la stabilité du réseau, les services publics adoptent des politiques et des mécanismes pour réduire la consommation électrique de pointe. Cette Solution constructive présente une stratégie appelée « gestion de la demande », où les clients reçoivent directement des services publics une invitation à réduire temporairement leur consommation d’électricité durant des épisodes de très forte demande.
