Fistularia tabacaria Linnaeus 1758
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Fistularia tabacaria Linnaeus 1758 Extant specimens: ACL-HN-0059 (Fig. 32a) and ACL-HN-0058 (Fig. 32b). Classification on the specimen: “P. Abd. Fistularia tabaccaria [sic]” Common names on the specimen (Portuguese/Tupi): “Trombêta”/ “Petumbuaba”. Comments: The upper and lower portions of the herbarium sheet of ACL-HN-0059 are missing, resulting in the lack of information on the original classification and common names associated with this specimen. Furthermore, the entire head is missing. Despite these limitations, given the distinctiveness of this species, we hypothesize that it corresponds to the same species as ACL-HN-0058. There are seven herborized specimens of Fistularia mentioned in the Ajuda’s inventory (Ferreira 1794), and one specimen of F. tabacaria is listed in the transference documentation to Lisbon Academy of Sciences. Two additional specimens are listed in the transference documentation to the University of Coimbra, but they are missing. This species is described in the Ichthyologia Fluminensis and includes the same common names. Antunes & Balbino (2003) also identified the specimens as F. tabacaria. Fistularia tabacaria occurs in the western Atlantic from Nova Scotia (Canada) to São Paulo (Brazil) (Figueiredo & Menezes 1980; Fritzsche 2016) and the eastern Atlantic from Cape Verde and Mauritania to Angola (Fritzsche 2016). Order Scombriformes

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
