Abstract
52. Theognete lapouimetorum Anderson, new species (Figures 156, 191, 226) Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 3.54–3.71mm; female, 3.82–4.02mm. Width, male, 2.08–2.19mm; female, 2.08–2.19mm. As for T. braunae but pronotum virtually impunctate, scales small and sparse, flanks with punctures distinctly separate, male rostrum with scrobes broadly visible in dorsal view. Male tergite VIII emarginate in middle. Aedeagus as in Fig. 191. Geographical distribution. Guatemala (Zacapa). Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest leaf litter at elevations of from 1500– 1600m. Derivation of specific name. Through his support of the Nature Discovery Fund at the Canadian Museum of Nature, this species is named after Odette Lapointe and Roger Ouimet of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, as a gift from Mario Lalanne. Material examined. 5♂, 10♀♀ (CMNC, UVGC). Holotype ♂ (CMNC): GUATEMALA: Zacapa. 3.5km S. E. La Unión, 1500m., 4.VI.1991, R.
