Wien ÖNB Cod. 2160 f. 164-184 Ground Truth from HTR Winter School 2022
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This is ground truth for Vienna, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, 2160, which is dated to the 3rd quarter of the 9thcentury (North Italy), probably in the vicinity of Rome (Kaiser, Liebs). Data collection and ground truth creation: This data was collected during the HTR Winter School 2022. At the time we collected the data, we found images of this manuscript on ÖNB: https://digital.onb.ac.at/RepViewer/viewer.faces?doc=DTL_6648517&order=1&view=SINGLE. We then uploaded the images into the Transkribus platform, applied the line recognition tool and manually copied the transcribed text lines into the recognised line boxes. We focussed on fols 164–184, which contains one version of the <em>Mosaicarum et Romanarum Legum Collatio</em>. In order to provide a more accurate account of the manuscript, we did not correct scribal errors. The second version adds the missing table of content from the first pages of the Lex Dei. Also some pages have been revised and transcription mistakes corrected. In addition, we have now published the underlying transcription rules in a separate pdf.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; both teacher heads agree on what is shown here.
