Abstract
This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political and social issues. The questions ask opinions on environmental protection, concern for environmental problems, welfare, the NHL playoffs, Don Mazanowski's budget, Canada's native peoples, Quebec, the Academy Awards, voting behaviour, the Social charter in the Constitution, and party choices. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: concern for air quality; concern for food quality; concern for forest conservation; concern for greenhouse gas effects; concern for ozone layer depletion; concern for soil conservation; concern for water quality; Eric Lindros; government spending on welfare; team likely to win the Stanley cup; film likely to win best picture at the Academy awards; Bob Rae; Lynn McLeod; budget measure to strengthen economy; approving Quebec as a distinct society. Basic demographic variables are also included.
