Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Greenlane Archaeology carried out an archaeological desk-based assessment prior to potential alterations to Town Head, Windermere. Town Head is first recorded in 1675, evidently as a farm. It passed through various families during the 18th century, principally the Taylors, and was acquired in 1803 by William Townley of Rochdale for 7,000. He soon made a number of additions and a detailed specification drawn up by the builder, William Elleray, gives a good impression of what was added at this time. It reached its present form during the early 19th century and the road along the east side of Lake Windermere was moved to the east to bypass Town Head between 1807 and 1850. The gardens were also remodelled in the late 19th century. The line of the old road and other earthworks of possible archaeological interest are visible in the available Lidar imagery for the area.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
