Ce colloque international s'inscrit dans un contexte dans lequel les recherches sur l'antiféminisme dans les universités francophones sont plus dynamiques que jamais, et très diversifiées dans leurs sujets d'intérêts et leurs approches. Il insistera sur les cas français et québécois en mettant en avant l'interdisciplinarité des études portant sur les antiféminismes et masculinismes, particulièrement tout au long du XXe siècle. Ces thématiques seront abordées par les liens qu'elles entretiennent avec les courants conservateurs et les combats militants (violences faites aux femmes, discriminations sexistes...) ainsi que les nouveaux enjeux contemporains concernant les antiféminismes (notamment dans l'espace religieux).
