Abstract

In an inactive quarry at Dingwall (Canada, Nova Scotia) was documented the anhydrite hydration process resulting in the transition into secondary gypsum. As a result of hydration, numerous morphological forms such as domes, tepee structures forms, ridges and fractures are formed. Under the surface of elevated rock layer there are empty chambers, which in many cases are available for humans and are called hydration caves. One of the main methods used during documentation of hydration forms was the method of terrestrial photogrammetry. This method enabled obtaining 3D and 2.5D models of the examined objects, as well as generating orthophotomaps and DSMs with a high value of Ground Sampling Distance. On the base of these data, the hydration form no. 6 and no. 15 was analyzed in terms of morphology and morphometry.
